My Story
Hello — I’m Megan Colleen.
Gardens · Florals · Botanicals
In 2014, I picked up my first paintbrush and fell in love. Hello, flow.
My work is rooted in gardens, florals, and botanicals—places where growth is layered, imperfect, and alive. I find freedom and joy working in acrylic mixed media and oil paints, where I smudge, scrape, smear, paste, and pattern paint in juicy layers. I love texture, layers, flowers, and hearts—because life, like a garden, is made of all of these.
My paintings explore floral and botanical forms as symbols of resilience, tenderness, and becoming.
I’m self-taught, supported by multiple online courses, two abstract acrylic classes through Kendall College of Art and Design, and a semester of oil painting at Muskegon Community College. My learning, much like my art, continues to grow and evolve.
I live an abundant, beautifully messy human life on 40 acres in West Michigan with my husband and son—surrounded by land, seasons, gratitude, mistakes, growth, and love.
Thank you for spending a moment in my creative world.
I’m honored you stopped by.
XO,
Megan Colleen
