March Studio Update + Free March Desktop Calendar
Hi Art Friends,
Here is your Free March Desktop Calendar. This month’s image is a snippet from a 7×7 inch oak panel mixed media/oil piece with ombre blue hearts I made just a few weeks ago, I call it Blue Love. It is still drying but this piece for me represents the hard, messy yet beautiful life that we all live. Life can be hard – but in the mess is where we find the beauty.
Below are a few pictures of what we were up to in the month of February…
Artistically I finished “Deep Hope” for a dear friend. Still moving forward with some more tree paintings and at a larger scale – love the way it turned out with the resin finish. This one is painted off a sunset picture my Aunt took from the cottage at Wolf Lake in Baldwin MI. More coming in the future here – thinking I might theme her and my Dad’s sunset pics with trees. Also playing around with some oil/cold wax hearts over acrylic mixed media wood boards… I am LOVING these. The inspiration comes from artist – AnneMarie Coolick and her juicy oil polka dot and heart paintings. I find am in love with the thick paint and background texture. Lasty I have a couple of work in progress florals – a small sunflower with so much texture and a large bouquet… progress images of those below.
Lastly, Huz made me a leveling table. When we moved my studio to the new space it is in a very old part of the farm house and not the most level. I have been fighting with my resin art so the solution was a level table. An example of my resin issues in the below picture. Excited to use it in the near future.
Personally, I am still working in the evenings at basketball. My last game of this amazing season is March 11th. I am looking forward to having some more time this spring to dedicate to my art and make some changes to my website. More on that in the future.
