May Studio Update + Free May Desktop Calendar
Hi Art Friends,
Here is the link for your Free May Desktop Calendar. This month’s image is from a new piece I made just this month. As a matter of fact, the white hearts are still wet. They are made with a mixture of oil paint and cold wax medium. I am loving these pieces, messy backgrounds covered in love. A lot like life, sometimes it gets messy but love helps.
What was I up to in April? Artistically & Personally…
Artistically – I started a few things, but have not had much time to complete them with the exception of Joy+Love (my May 2022 Calendar). I just love how Joy+Love turned out. See if you can spot the big joy in the painting, it is a bit covered, but there.
A couple of work in progress: Chunky heart over a pink n gold pour and new word art GRACE – I love the word grace. Dictionary.com has a great definition “have the grace to, to be so kind as to…” I am painting this as a reminder for one’s self, to give yourself grace. In this messy world we all make mistakes, give yourself grace and kindness and try again. More on that next month. I am hoping to finish it up here in early May. Fun fact I use holy water to manipulate the paint in all of my acrylic paintings. It is my way of honoring and blessing each painting.
Personally – April was a busy month. We went on a spring break adventure to Arkansas. We dug for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park as well as hit up a few of the crystal mine in the area and mined for quartz. So. Much. Fun … Upon returning home throw in Easter, my sons adoption Day, our 14th wedding anniversary, and it was a packed month.
